Some Common Questions:
What is a aisle flag?
Aisle flags are a form of die cut signage inserted into a shelf channel that protrude into the aisle to draw attention to a product. Because of their custom shape including a strip to insert into the channel, aisle flags require no special clips, allowing them to jut from the shelf. Because they are perpendicular to the shelf, they can be viewed by customers approaching a product from either direction.
How do you use an aisle flag?
Aisle flags are a great way to highlight a product on a shelf, easily installed without the need for any special tools or clips. Their custom die cut shape features a tab to install directly into the channel on the front of a traditional channeled shelf. Optional double-sided tape adds an additional line of durability to keep an aisle flag in place in high traffic areas.
- Find an area of the shelf channel below the desired product that is clear from existing information. If the channel has a plastic face, the dangler should go in front of it.
- Shelf talkers ship flat. To use, fold the channel tab at the score line so it is about 90 degrees from the graphic portion.
- Remove the tape liner if utilizing optional double-sided tape from the channel portion. This will adhere in the channel at the front of the shelf, on the plastic face if applicable.
- Pop the tab flat into the channel, press firmly to adhere tape if applicable.
- When properly placed, the aisle flag stands perpendicular to the shelf.
What material is used to make an aisle flag?
Aisle flags are most produced on durable 14 mil synthetic. The aisle flag is die-cut and scored at the channel tab. Alternatively, temporary or short-term aisle flags can be produced on cardstock such as a 14 pt cover.
What makes a good aisle flag?
An effective aisle flag is eye catching and informative. Being two sided, they offer ample space to share a message and provide information to shoppers.
- Eye-catching designs: Available in multiple sizes and shapes, aisle flags lend themselves to creative graphics. Designs emphasizing the product displayed in conjunction with readable text and colorful graphics are most effective. As a bonus, additional information can be placed on opposite side to avoid crowding.
- Proper placement: Aisle flags are most effective on shelves that are eye level so they can be easily read. Low or high placement may make them unreadable.
- Offer Valuable Information: Clear messaging is vital on an aisle flag, providing consumers with the answers they need during the decision-making process.
- Less is More: While aisle flags have two sides to fill, keeping text short and clear is the most effective way to keep the attention of shoppers.
Where do you use an aisle flag?
Aisle flags are used on the front edge of a channeled shelf. They are typically placed under a highlighted product, whether it is a new item, special promotion, or sale price. Commonly used in retail settings, aisle flags can be seen in supermarkets, convenience stores, hardware stores and much more!
